Two immigrants from Afghanistan were found dead in a field in Arad county, near the A1 highway, with stab wounds. Authorities were alerted by a third man in the group, who was also injured, Agerpres reports.
The bodies were found in the Şagu commune area, located about 50 kilometers from the Hungarian border, near the A1 highway and 20 kilometers from Arad.
The Afghan who alerted authorities was stabbed and taken to hospital for treatment. He underwent surgery and is hospitalized at the Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital (SCJU). SCJU spokeswoman Simina Roz said the patient’s condition was stable and the man was conscious.
Investigators believe there was a fight between two groups of illegal immigrants.
The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Arad Court, Ramona Lungu, declared this Saturday that “it was ordered to initiate the criminal investigation in rem for two crimes of homicide and one of attempted murder.” The bodies were collected and transported to Forensic Medicine to determine the cause of death, and numerous stab wounds were found on the bodies of the victims.
Investigators will listen to the surviving witness and identify the assailants.
