In the last 24 hours there were 1,527 new cases of Covid-19, out of the 25,254 tests carried out. Other 48 of people died due to the coronavirus infection. 447 patients are admitted to intensive care.
To date, on September 18, in Romania, 110,217 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 88,235 patients were declared cured.
The figure represents the total number of people cured since the beginning of the pandemic and resulted from the review and update of data by the Ministry of Health and CNCCI.
After tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 1,527 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test. The county breakdown of total and new cases can be found in the following table.
To date, 4,360 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 17.09.2020 (10:00) – 18.09.2020 (10:00) there were 48 deaths (28 men and 20 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Bihor, Bistrita -Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Marecea, Sibiu and Bucharest, Ilfova, Timi.
Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 50 to 59 years, 17 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 15 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years, and 14 deaths in the age category more than 80 years.
44 of the registered deaths are from some patients who presented comorbidities, 3 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for one deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,081. Of these, 447 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 2,185,923 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 25,254 were performed in the last 24 hours, 16,065 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,189 upon request.
In Romania, 11,684 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 5,962 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 38,999 people are in home quarantine and 8 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1,087 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 578 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05/15/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 519 sanctions for contravention, in the amount of 152,800 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 4 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,599 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain. , 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
