Another 5,753 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus were reported on Saturday in Romania, the balance of diseases reaches 241,339, according to data published by the Strategic Communication Group. In the last 24 hours the death toll was 101.

Most of the new cases were registered in Bucharest, respectively 594.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 11,254. Of these, 923 are hospitalized in ATI.

In the last 24 hours, 36,181 tests were performed, 20,708 based on case definition and medical protocol and 15,473 on request.

In Romania, 28,797 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 10,860 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 54,373 people are in home quarantine and 15 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 101 deaths (63 men and 38 women) of patients infected by the new coronavirus have been reported. Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 4 deaths were recorded in the category 40 to 49 years, 10 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 22 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 33 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 31 deaths in the category over 80 years.

92 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and so far no comorbidities of 9 deceased patients have been reported.

Since the beginning of the epidemic in Romania, 6,968 people diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
