The 14-year-old gymnast dominated on Sunday at the European Championships in Mersin. Ana Maria Bărbosu heard the Romanian anthem four times for each device won in the final.
Unirea-Odobești athlete, Focsani was imposed in jumps with an average of 13,975, in parallels with a degree of 13,450, in beams with 13, 100 tied with Greta Mayer of Hungary, and on the ground with 13,250.
Romania won two more medals on Sunday through Mara Ceplinschi, who came in second on the ground, and Andreea Preda, who took bronze on the beam. On Friday, the juniors won the team competition, and in the individual compound Ana Maria Bărbosu was the champion in the individual compound followed on the podium by Mara Ceplinschi.
Ana Maria Bărbosu is part of the project “Country, country, we want champions” started by Octavian Belu and Mariana Bitang five years ago and is legitimized in CSȘ Focșani.
