A village school, of heart Transylvania, revolutionizes the educational system of Romania. The unit has been equipped with an intelligent building access system that allows facial recognition of students and teachers. The system takes the temperature of those entering the school and signals those who do not wear a protective mask. Also, other software will detect the carbon dioxide level and will announce when the class needs to be ventilated. We invite you to see a report made in the most modern instthatrural education in Romania.
The first “smart” school in rural Romania in Romania is preparing to start courses with special measures and a unique smart building access system. An air filtration and disinfection system will also be used for the first time in common areas and school personnel will be evaluated. The system signals if a student is missing and the school management immediately contacts the family to see what happened. It occurs in Ciugud, in the Alba region, a commune that has been talked about repeatedly, being one of the few positive examples in Romania. Champion in projects with European funds, she gained the fame of “the richest commune in Romania”.
The goalkeeper, replaced by a robot that knows if you are wearing a mask
Instead of the doorman with the thermometer in hand who will give the children “good morning” at the entrance, in the School Gymnasium of the Ciugud commune, Alba region, the students will be greeted by a robot.
Epidemiological triage at the entrance of the school is carried out with the help of a smart device. If the intruder does not wear a mask, they are detected immediately. The Digi24 reporter did a test run and tried to enter without a mask. “Please wear a mask!” The robot’s voice was heard. “Normal temperature”. The device then confirms that you can enter the school.
And the robot’s mission doesn’t end here. He will also be the one who shouts the first catalog, and in the event of a student’s absence, the school principal will be notified immediately.
National premiere: artificial intelligence for classroom air
The Ciugud school means two things: strict organization and artificial intelligence. He is ready to receive students on Monday with maximum security. For example, each student will find in their bank a clear guide on what Covid-19 means and how they should behave during class. In addition, in order to always keep fresh air in the classroom, a system based on artificial intelligence was implemented for the first time in the country, which shows the level of carbon dioxide, temperature and brightness level.
Although it may seem hard to believe, all this is happening in a rural school in Romania.
The students and teachers here put down the chalk a year ago and have been learning to smart table.
“There are smart boards that I write on with a pencil,” explained one student.
“And what do you think?”
– More beautiful than normal boards.
Instead of labs, virtual reality
Even the classic laboratories of biology, chemistry or history no longer exist. All have now been translated into virtual reality.
“For example, I make the description of the class with the students, I open this material and I can show it to the children and they can walk inside the theater and I can show what I see, I can make a description,” explains the teacher.
The hybrid scenario is not necessarily a first for Ciugud students.
“And before, there were times when the flu kept children at home. There are some rooms where you can spend lessons. The child sitting at home can see what is happening in the classroom,” says the school principal.
Proud of his rural school
Students and parents are proud of the school in their commune.
“It’s a big difference from other schools! I’m very happy to have moved here,” says Denisa, a student.
“Since they have super-mega-extra conditions, so that everyone can understand, it suits me, so to speak, and I am much calmer, from all points of view. I also brought the boy, because I transferred the girl last winter. It’s like the outside, “says one of the parents.
“We learned together, everything was something new in our school, suddenly they had access to everything,” says Maria Simion, director of the school in Ciugud.
The school has about 130 students, who wouldn’t even want to go anywhere else now. Director Maria Simion says everyone is eager to get back on the bench.
The works to transform the rural school into a smart school cost one million euros: half the European money and half the local budget.
