After the tests carried out at the national level, in the last 24 hours there have been 1,679 new cases of people infected by SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), 27 deaths and 460 people hospitalized in ATI.
To date, on September 17, in the territory of Romania, 108,690 cases of people infected by the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
Data on the number of people declared cured is not available at this time due to technical updates in the reporting system and the data centralization application. These data will be communicated as soon as possible as soon as they are available.
Aside from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 478 people were positively reconfirmed. The county distribution of these cases can be found in the following table.
To date, 4,312 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 16.09.2020 (10:00) – 17.09.2020 (10:00) there were 27 deaths (18 men and 9 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita -Năsăud, Brăila, Braşov, Călăraşi, Dâmboviţa, Galaţi, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureş, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Timiş, Vaslui and Bucharest. Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 7 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 9 deaths in the age category age 70 to 79 years and 6 deaths in the category over 80 years.
26 of the registered deaths are from patients who have experienced comorbidities, and so far no comorbidities have been reported for a deceased patient.
In health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6,960. Of these, 460 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 2,160,669 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 24,025 were performed in the last 24 hours, 15,292 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 8,733 on request.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 100 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until September 17 have been reported.
In Romania, 11,540 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 5,807 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 38,167 people are in home quarantine and 7 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 667 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 163,800 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,599 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,905 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain. , 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece, 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
