In the last 24 hours, 3,952 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, out of 31,767 tests. Authorities have reported another 63 deaths due to coronavirus infections. In ATI, the number of hospitalized patients is 745.
To date, on October 17, in Romania, 176,468 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 129,556 patients were declared cured.
Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 3,952 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.
The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county level of Bucharest is as follows:
To date, 5,812 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 16.10.2020 (10:00) – 17.10.2020 (10:00) 63 deaths (37 men and 26 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Iași, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 8 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 14 deaths in the age category age 60-69 years, 21 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 16 deaths in the category over 80 years.
All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,802. Of these, 745 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 2,832,679 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 31,767 were performed in the last 24 hours, 18,564 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 13,203 upon request.
In Romania, 18,748 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 9,308 people are institutionally isolated. In addition, 44,154 people are in home quarantine and 46 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,416 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 897 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 5,505 sanctions for minor infractions, worth 851,845 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 9 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
