Russian dissident Aleksei Navalny said on Monday that a team of agents from the Russian secret service FSB (Federal Security Service) tried to kill him on the orders of President Vladimir Putin, reports DPA.
According to a recording posted on YouTube by Navalny, this team tried at least twice to poison him with the neurotoxic substance Noviciok, prior to the August incident, when he became ill aboard a plane flying between Tomsk and Moscow. , being later transferred to a hospital in Germany where his poisoning with Noviciok was confirmed, writes agerpres.ro.

The Russian opponent also claims that previous attempts to poison him failed because the assassin team was careful not to use too much poison, as an instant death would have been too easy to investigate.
Aleksei Navalny supports the allegations about airline passenger data and phone records, viewing them as proof that he was followed by FSB agents.

The Bellingcat investigative journalists’ organization, which supported Navalny in his investigations, said in a statement that a member of the group allegedly involved in the latest assassination attempt on the Russian opponent reported directly to President Vladimir Putin.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly denied any involvement in the Navalny assassination attempt.

Former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Iulia were also poisoned two years ago in Britain by a nerve agent from the Noviciok group. They survived, but a British citizen who came into contact with the substance died.
