In the last 24 hours, 4,016 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered, a new negative record for coronavirus infections in Romania, since the start of the pandemic. Another 66 Romanians died from COVID-19, while 686 patients are admitted to intensive care, a new record.
To date, on October 14, in Romania, 164,477 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
122,714 patients were declared cured.
After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,016 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.
The counties in which the 14-day cumulative infection coefficient, reported per 1,000 population, exceeds the 1.5 threshold are as follows:

Aside from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 894 people were positively reconfirmed.
To date, 5,601 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 13.10.2020 (10:00) – 14.10.2020 (10:00) 66 deaths (38 men and 28 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timișa, Vaslurance Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 30 to 39 years, 1 death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 8 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 14 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years, 23 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 19 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,439. Of these, 686 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 2,740,624 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 31,318 were performed in the last 24 hours, 18,899 based on the definition of the case and medical protocol, and 12,419 upon request.
In Romania, 15,843 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 8,959 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 36,250 people are in home quarantine and 43 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,256 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 1,088 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and the gendarmerie applied, in the last 24 hours, 4,678 penalties for minor infractions, worth 659,850 lei.
Likewise, yesterday, through the competent structures of the Police, 5 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,812 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,999 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain. , 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 122 in Austria, 21 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo and Qatar .
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
