A new tense day is announced, after three days of negotiations and consultations without result. Klaus Iohannis did not say any name of prime minister yesterday, and today, according to Digi24 sources, he is meeting with Ludovic Orban again.

However, there must also be a discussion with the leaders of USR PLUS, because neither one nor the other seems willing to renounce the claim that blocked the consultations: the head of the Chamber of Deputies.

President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday, after consultations with parliamentary parties, that “the conditions for appointing a candidate to form a new government have not yet been met.” The President said that at least one more round of consultations would follow.

After the talks in Cotroceni, the president of the PNL, Ludovic Orban, declared that he presented the president with the stage of negotiations for the formation of the center-right coalition and that he sent him the two proposals approved by the leadership of the PNL: Florin Cîțu- Prime Minister and President Ludovic Orban of the Chamber of Deputies. . At the same time, he however, he hinted that PNL will not yield to USR PLUS in the negotiations.

On the other hand, USR PLUS presented the president with its own version of the prime minister: Dacian Cioloș. USR PLUS leaders Dan Barna and Dacian Cioloș stated after consultations that they want a stable and balanced majority. In addition, Dan Barna argued that the basic idea, which was also agreed by the head of state, is to negotiate all positions from top to bottom and have a coalition with everything politically agreed upon through dialogue.

Negotiations for the government ended on Sunday after just two hours because the Liberals refused to waste the entire day like Saturday with the same fruitless discussions about the position of Speaker of the House of Deputies that USR PLUS stubbornly demands for Dan Barna.
