After eight months of trial, the magistrates of the Capital decline the trial of Sorina Pintea, accused of spaga, in the Court of Maramures

The Bucharest Court declined on Wednesday, December 2, the corruption trial in which Sorina Pintea, former Health Minister, is being tried in the Maramures Court. The decision is final. The case is pending before the courts of the Capital since April 2020.

“Based on paragraph 3 of article 47 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, admits the exception of territorial incompetence of the Court of Bucharest – Criminal Section I. Based on paragraph 6 of article 346 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Rejects the competence to resolve the case in favor of the Court of Maramures, county of Maramures Based on article 275 paragraph 3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the legal expenses advanced by the state are at your expense.

At the end of April 2020, Sorina Pintea was sued by DNA prosecutors for continuously accepting bribes.

According to the indictment, between November 2019 and February 28, 2020, Pintea, as manager of the Baia Mare County Emergency Hospital, allegedly claimed and received, through an intermediary, from company representatives, in two tranches, the amounts of 10,000 euros (as of December 20, 2019) and 120,000 lei (as of February 28, 2020), which would not have expired, which represents a percentage of 7% of the value of a public contract.

The purpose of the contract was “the design and execution of the ordination works of the cardiovascular and thoracic operating room-operating room and adjacent spaces of the County Emergency Hospital Dr. Constantin Opris Baia Mare ”and was concluded in 2019 by the hospital unit with the company.
