The Social Democrats want the final vote on the budget rectification in the form they have redrafted on Tuesday or Wednesday. They voted in the budget-finance commissions for pensions to increase by 40% as of September 1 and not by 14 percent as established by the Government. In addition, they demand that the mayors receive 1.5 billion lei, and the parliamentary offices, 5.6 million lei after the elections.

Ludovic Orban: “These increases in spending are not possible. The PSD, in practice, generated additional expenses of 6.5% of GDP and, at the same time, modified the maximum debt ceiling in relation to GDP, from 44% to 40%. %. I mean, what did it do? It generated additional expenses and prohibited the possibility of obtaining financing to cover these expenses, that is, it laid the foundations of a bankruptcy. We cannot accept that the PSD is making fun of this country and taking Romania to nowhere “.

PSD MPs were also generous with other areas. They voted for the income of teachers to increase from this year, and not from 2021 as proposed by the Government, they allocated 67 million lei for the anti-hail system in agriculture and last but not least, another 20 million lei for the Cathedral of Salvation. All under the conditions in which the government claims that the budget deficit is 50 billion lei so far.

In the debates in the commissions, the NLP parliamentarians were absent, and in the assembled plenary they can block the adoption of these measures only if they have the support of the USR and UDMR.
