A new day with more than 10,000 COVID-19 cases

In the last 24 hours, 10,108 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, of the 36,963 tests carried out. Another 167 Romanians died after being infected with the new coronavirus, while 1,131 patients are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, on November 19, in Romania, 393,851 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

269,590 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 10,108 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 1,334 people were positively reconfirmed.

According to the data transmitted by the authorities, the Capital and 20 other counties are in the red stage.

To date, 9,596 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 18.11.2020 (10:00) – 19.11.2020 (10:00) 167 deaths were reported (91 men and 76 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olalt, Prahova, Vova, Siui Sași Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 8 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 13 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 41 deaths in the age category age 60-69 years, 59 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 44 deaths in the category over 80 years.

160 of the deaths registered were of some patients who presented comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 3 patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 13,447. Of these, 1,131 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,808,279 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 36,963 were performed in the last 24 hours, 20,954 based on case definition and medical protocol and 16,009 on request.

In Romania, 48,140 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 13,281 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 79,434 people are in home quarantine and 19 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5,552 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 734 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 18 of this year, 7,450 sanctions for minor infractions, worth 1,262,965 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 5 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,863 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,935 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in the Kingdom United, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar , Vatican, Portugal and Egypt.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
