Serious accusations against some doctors after a man died just a week after surgery for tonsillitis. The family filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office and the College of Physicians and an autopsy was carried out on the man.

Elena Alexandru, Digi24 journalist: This is a 40-year-old man from Craiova. He went a week ago to a private clinic in the city where he was operated on. There his tonsils were removed and after a few hours he went home.

After 3 days, the man felt unwell and called the clinic. They called him there, the doctor who operated on him checked him out and told him that everything was fine and that he would have to wait a few days for him to heal.

Soon, the patient felt worse and called an ambulance. He was taken to Craiova County Emergency Hospital where, sadly, he died two days later.

The family accuses the doctors of the private clinic of malpractice and has filed several complaints with the Police, the Prosecutor’s Office and the College of Physicians.

Today came the result of the autopsy with the cause of death. Apparently the doctor who operated on him cut his carotid artery.

Now, the police and the College of Physicians must establish the guilt of those who operated on him.
