Alexandru Brumă was a puppet artist at the Vasilache Puppet Theater in Botoşani from 1959-1998, but also an honorary member of the Vasilache Theater since 2002.

„THE VASILACHE THEATER FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH in Botoşani was established on May 1, 1953 by order of the Art Committee attached to the Council of Ministers, the first director being the late Max Weber.
At first it was called, in the note of the time, the PUPPET THEATER “CRAVATA ROŞIE”, but starting in 1973, the THEATER took the name of a well-known Romanian doll, “VASILACHE”.
The first premiere took place on June 25, 1953, with the show “La Oca”, directed by Florica Teodoru and scenography by Tache Dobrescu.
In the 67 years of activity, the repertoire has included original works, but also many adaptations of Romanian or foreign fairy tales and literary works.
Thus, there are works by Creanga, Eminescu, Sadoveanu, Cezar Petrescu, Victor Eftimiu, Gellu Naum, then Swift, Pushkin, Kipling, Oscar Wilde, even Shakespeare, Homer, Aristophanes, without missing the brothers Grimm, Andersen, Charles Perrault and many others. .
Renowned directors and set designers in the field of puppetry in Romania contributed to the performances of the Botosani theater.
