A 3-year-old boy from Bucharest needs the most expensive medicine in the world in order to lead a normal life. The little boy suffers from a rare genetic disease, for which there is only one treatment, which costs more than 2 million dollars. Desperate, parents turned to people for help, and those who could not help them with money donated items that were sold this weekend at a charity fair in the Capital.

Books, toys, shoes or clothes: they seem trivial objects for each of us. For Alexandru’s parents, a young boy, they are the only chance to receive the $ 2 million treatment, the only one that could help him more easily carry the genetic disease he suffers from.

Gabriela Radu, Alexandru’s mother: Spinal amyotrophy is a genetic disease, it is a very serious disease, children lose the ability to move to swallow and breathe later, we use medical equipment, a ventilator. We should at least try it for our son, knowing that it is possible.

The Alexandru solidarity fair took place this weekend in the Youth Park of the Capital.

Andrei Padin, Alexandru’s father: Many people mobilized and helped us, but for now it is not enough, we need even more people to help us. We are somewhat against the clock, because Alexander is gaining weight and the treatment is more difficult to administer.

People who came to the park hope the family can raise the huge amount.

-I think we should all help each other and things so organized are welcome.

-Every help, every object counts.

-I’m registered in the group on Facebook and we said to help as much as we can.

So far they have managed to raise $ 60,000. Whoever wants to help them can do so in the account opened especially for Alexandru.
