Dr. Ioan Cătălin Denciu, the one who suffered severe burns in an attempt to save his patients from the fire in Piatra Neamț, is described by a former patient as a warm and caring person.
Daniela Iacob told Digi24 that she met Cătălin Denciu six years ago, when she underwent surgery.
She said it was not the operation that scared her very much, but the fact that she would be given general anesthesia.
“I was shy, but he prepared me. He gave me strength, courage, I was impressed by the calm, the warmth, the professionalism, the attention with which he said those words to me.
When he woke up, he was next to me, just as thoughtful, warm. I can’t say that I knew him well, I only saw him then, but I was impressed by the warmth of his voice, the delicacy, the humanity of communication, his desire to establish a friendly relationship.
Hearing about the tragedy that happened, I was very upset.
I was not surprised by his humane, brave, purely Christian attitude, in the end, of putting his life in danger for his neighbor, ”said Daniela Iacob.
The doctor suffered extensive burns after trying to save his patients from the fire.
He was taken to a hospital in Belgium, the military plane took off on Sunday morning from Base 90 Otopeni.
