A 21-year-old girl, selected for the national soccer team, died after her car was hit by a train

Alice Cociuba, a soccer player with teams for Romania’s youth teams as well as the first national team, passed away on the night of December 24, after her car was hit by a train, reports AradOn.

The accident occurred on Thursday night, when the car driven by the 21-year-old woman in the area of ​​the town of Ineu was run over by the Regio 160249 train at a level crossing with the railway without barriers.

Alice Cociuba, who was behind the wheel, was seriously injured in the collision. There were three more people in the car, another 22-year-old girl was injured.

Alice Cobiuba was resuscitated by the ambulance teams that intervened at the scene, but death was pronounced after 45 minutes.

This afternoon (Thursday, December 24 – no.), Around 9:15 p.m., a fatal accident occurred in the area of ​​the town of Ineu. A 21-year-old woman from Târnova, while driving a car within the town of Ineu, at a level crossing with a simple railroad, without barriers, was run over by the Regio 160249 train, driven by a 62-year-old man. of Arad, who was moving in the direction of Arad-Gurahonț. Following the traffic accident, the driver was seriously injured and another 22-year-old woman from Târnova, a passenger in the car, was slightly injured. The driver was resurrected for about 45 minutes and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the locomotive was tested with the breathalyzer, the result was negative. In the case, a criminal file was prepared under the aspect of commission of the crimes of wrongful death and wrongful bodily injury, in order to establish exactly the circumstances and causes of the road accident, ”the representatives of the IPJ Arad transmitted.

The Romanian Football Federation and the 1st Women’s League sent a message after the disappearance of the player Alice Cociuba.

Alice Cociuba (21 years old) has played in the last 3 seasons for the Arad Piroș Security Arad team. In the past, he also played for CS Ineu and CFR 1933 Timișoara. The young woman also played for the Romanian youth teams, as well as for the first representative.
