The Romanian College of Physicians sent, on Friday, a reaction to a message sent by several doctors, dentists and pharmacists, reports News.ro.
“The Romanian College of Physicians (CMR) is completely delimited by this letter, which does not represent the will of the medical body as a whole, and establishes that, according to current regulations, CMR is the institution that” defends dignity and promotes rights and interests of its members in all areas of activity, defend the honor, freedom and professional independence of the doctor in the exercise of the profession, ensure compliance by doctors with the obligations that are incumbent upon them towards the patient and the public health ””, transmitted the College of Physicians.
The organization affirms that there is at least one person among the signatories of the text, Prof. Dr. Ioan Cordos, who affirms that he was not aware of the existence of this document and that he did not sign said letter.
“This situation may suggest provocative text, containing the ingredients of ‘fake news’ material. These forms of distortion of the reality of the pandemic that we are facing do a lot of damage to Romania and some of its citizens. Such dangerous messages, they lose confidence in the medical system and postpone the presentation to the doctor until the advanced stages of the Covid-19 disease, which unfortunately sometimes has disastrous consequences, ”the College of Physicians also transmitted.
The Romanian College of Physicians, as a representative forum of the medical profession, supports the observance of all necessary measures to limit the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in accordance with current legal regulations and international recommendations, emphasizes the organization.
“In the case of those doctors who do not comply with the medical standards widely accepted by the medical scientific community and affect, through their statements, public health, by instigating their violation, they will be identified and investigated in the disciplinary commissions of CMR, to Raise the right to practice ”, the organization also specified.
Several doctors, including Monica Pop, Răzvan Constantinescu, Adina Alberts, as well as pharmacists and dentists, released an open letter calling on President Klaus Iohannis, parliamentarians and governors to “end the policy of perpetuating the state of Romania until now, the return to normality ”, describing the strategy to combat the pandemic as erroneous.
They criticize the obligation to wear a mask outdoors, monitor the temperature at the entrance of stores and ask for the lifting of traffic bans, the cessation of the promotion of anti-Covid vaccines.
They also demand that doctors be able to use their own treatment schemes for Covid patients and that authorities “stop inducing psychosis and manipulating statistical data.”
Some of the signatories of the document have repeatedly criticized the government’s measures to combat the spread of Covid-19.
