French billionaire Olivier Dassault was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday, and President Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to the 69-year-old conservative politician. Reuters reports.

Dassault was the eldest son of French billionaire industrialist Serge Dassault, former owner of the Dassault aviation group, maker of Falcon, Mirage and Rafale aircraft and owner of Le Figaro.

Olivier Dassault’s private helicopter crashed in Normandy on Sunday afternoon, where he had a vacation home, according to a police source. He also lost his life in the accident.

A member of the Conservative Les Republicains Party in 2002, Dassault was considered the 361st richest man in the world along with his two brothers and sister, with a fortune of about 6,000 million euros (7.15 billion dollars) inherited largely from his father, according to Forbes 2020.
