The Liberals, the majority party of the ruling coalition, announced at the last coalition meeting that they would lead TVR, an institution that USR-PLUS would have wanted, which led the latter to choose Public Radio. Under these conditions, UDMR has expressed its intention to take over the Ombudsman, not Agerpres, as the liberals would have expected, NLP sources specified for “Adevărul”. Taken by surprise, the Liberals demanded the resumption of the talks in a week.
Meanwhile, a variant for the leadership of TVR has already emerged, namely Mădălina Dobrovolschi, former spokesperson for Klaus Iohannis and TV moderator. In fact, the discussion about who will be installed at the head of TVR did not even take place within the NLP with the vice-presidents or various leaders of the territory, but only between the party leader and Klaus Iohannis’ team. The situation of the members of the TVR Board of Directors is not clear either, that is, if the NLP will follow the version of some people on television or the people of the party. “Ideally, we should put two or three professionals, who know TVR well and who are honest,” say sources from the NLP leadership for “Adevărul”.
Changes in the NAC too
The terms of four of the NAC members have expired, so new appointments will be made. The presidency must appoint one person, the government two and the Parliament one. According to the coalition negotiations, PNL would like to propose two people, and USR-PLUS – one of the members, while the fourth is at the discretion of the head of state.
But the full division of functions will not be established until Monday, when the new coalition meeting takes place. Political sources told “Adevărul” that the PNL would be willing to hand over the leadership of the Ombudsman’s Office to the UDMR, in order to unblock the negotiations, although the party led by Kelemen Hunor knows that the removal of Renata Weber will not be easy , unlike the others, political functions put up for sale.
