In the last 24 hours, 4,271 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, out of 35,949 tests carried out. Another 98 Romanians died after being infected with coronavirus. 1,070 patients are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, on March 4, in Romania, 816,589 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

749,673 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,271 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Below is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

To date, 20,684 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 03.03.2021 (10:00) – 04.03.2021 (10:00) 98 deaths were reported (58 men and 40 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Arad, Bacău, Brăila, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mareltibăvaăcea, Sältibăcea , Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 2 deaths in the age category 30 to 39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 12 deaths in the age category of age 50 to 59 years, 22 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 33 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years, and 22 deaths in the age group over 80 years.

94 of the registered deaths were of some patients who presented comorbidities and 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,035. Of these, 1,070 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 6,105,686 RT-PCR tests and 334,027 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 26,410 RT-PCR tests were performed (16,885 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,525 on request) and 9,539 rapid antigen tests.

In Romania, 44,712 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 13,011 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 50,327 people are in home quarantine and 120 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,667 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 589 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 3, 5,389 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 980,985 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a criminal record was prepared to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 23,469 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,539 in Italy, 16,772 in Spain, 195 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,116 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 7 in Sweden, 137 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 43 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 7 in Bulgaria, 12 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 13 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 2 in Singapore, 3 in Tunisia and one in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Croatia.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 186 Romanian citizens abroad, 34 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 4 have died in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 1 in the United States, 1 in Brazil, 1 in the Republic of the Congo, 1 in Greece and 1 in Iran.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
