In the last 24 hours, 2,676 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, out of 30,447 tests carried out, PCR and rapid tests. The infection rate is 8.78%. Another 111 Romanians died after becoming infected with coronavirus, while 967 COVID patients are hospitalized for intensive care.
To date, on February 2, in Romania, 732,732 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
678,473 patients were declared cured.
Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 2,676 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

To date, 18,513 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 01.02.2021 (10:00) – 02.02.2021 (10:00) 111 deaths were reported (67 men and 44 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Tulcarest, Tulicea.
Of these, 8 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 29 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 39 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years and 28 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
106 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 3 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,855. Of these, 967 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 5,472,825 RT-PCR tests and 128,485 rapid antigen tests have been processed throughout the country. In the last 24 hours, 23,287 RT-PCR tests (14,755 according to case definition and medical protocol and 8,532 on request) and 7,180 rapid antigen tests have been performed.
In Romania, 40,092 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 10,310 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 57,896 people are in home quarantine and 166 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,506 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 890 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on February 1, 4,603 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 777,500 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 5 criminal proceedings were raised to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 8,093 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,050 in Italy, 1,913 in Spain, 187 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3,115 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 37 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 12 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 13 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 2 in Singapore and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Croatia.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 151 Romanian citizens abroad, 34 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 25 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 4 have died in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 1 in the United States, 1 in Brazil, 1 in the Republic of the Congo, 1 in Greece and 1 in Iran.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
