In the last 24 hours, 2,901 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, out of 31,294 tests carried out, PCR and rapid tests. The infection rate is 9.2%. Another 90 Romanians died after being infected by coronavirus. In intensive care, the number of COVID patients drops to 989.
To date, on January 28, in Romania, 721,513 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
666,001 patients were declared cured.
Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 2,901 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.
The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
To date, 18,105 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 27.01.2021 (10:00) – 28.01.2021 (10:00) 90 deaths were reported (57 men and 33 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița -Năsăud, Brăila, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Cluj, Caraș-Severin, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Prahova, Siblaiu, Marefo, Siblui, Marefo, Săvăi Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 19 deaths in the category of age 60 to 69 years, 32 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 25 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
87 of the deaths registered were of some patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,687. Of these, 989 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 5,379,447 RT-PCR tests and 102,101 rapid antigenic tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 24,726 RT-PCR tests were performed (15,905 according to case definition and medical protocol and 8,821 on request) and 6,568 rapid antigen tests.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 121 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until January 28 of this year have been reported.
In Romania, 42,062 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 10,502 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 61,560 people are in home quarantine and 162 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,114 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 645 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 27, 4,589 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 800,350 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 5 criminal proceedings were raised to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,916 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,991 in Italy, 1,799 in Spain, 184 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,115 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 37 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 12 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 13 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Croatia.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 148 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 23 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 4 in Ireland, two in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo, one in Greece and one in Iran, have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
