In the last 24 hours, 4,951 new cases were reported, out of 31,393 tests performed. Another 111 Romanians died due to the coronavirus infection. 1,106 COVID patients are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, on January 7, in Romania, 658,958 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
591,596 patients were declared cured.
Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,951 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.
The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Here is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
To date, 16,410 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 06.01.2021 (10:00) – 07.01.2021 (10:00) 111 deaths were reported (80 men and 31 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamhova, Suceau, Tulceau, Praia, Timi Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 4 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 9 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 26 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 41 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 30 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
All deaths were in patients with comorbidities.
In health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8,846. Of these, 1,106 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 4,934,119 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 31,393 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 20,599 based on case definition and medical protocol and 10,794 on request.
In Romania, 26,961 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 8,620 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 40,651 people are in home quarantine and 65 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,071 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 793 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 6, 4,948 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 886,420 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a criminal file was drawn up to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,144 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,939 in Italy, 1,349 in Spain, 173 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 22 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in the Republic of Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 10 in Ireland and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Singapore and the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 132 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, died 3 in Sweden, 1 in Switzerland, 1 in the United States, 1 in Brazil, 1 in the Republic of Congo, 1 in Greece, 1 in Iran and 1 in Ireland.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
