3,130 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, of the 9,550 tests carried out. There are 78 new deaths and there are 1,100 patients in the ATI wards.

To date, on January 4, in Romania, 643,559 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
577,198 patients were declared cured.

Following tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 3,130 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Below is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after reassessment of the patients who were already positive, 290 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 16,057 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 03.01.2021 (10:00) – 04.01.2021 (10:00) 78 deaths were reported (46 men and 32 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița- Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Prahova, Sibiu, Teleorman, Timiș, Vâlcea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 3 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 13 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years, 30 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 29 deaths in the category over 80 years.

75 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities were registered and for 2 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 9,148. Of these, 1,100 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,837,361 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 9,550 were performed in the last 24 hours, 6,320 according to the case definition and medical protocol, and 3,230 on request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 138 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until January 4 of this year have been reported.

In Romania, 30,529 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 8,957 people are institutionally isolated. In addition, 43,389 people are in home quarantine and 63 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 2,395 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on January 3, 4,339 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 842,392 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a criminal file was drawn up to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

„We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be notified. The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects ”, transmits GCS.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,063 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,939 in Italy, 1,290 in Spain, 173 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 11 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan and the Russian Federation.

Since the start of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 130 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, died 3 in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
