A former Suceava gendarme died on the first day of the year, aged just 42, due to Covid 19. Neculai Prostire was confirmed with the Sars-Cov-2 virus in mid-December, and a few days after confirmation, on El 19 December was hospitalized in the ATI ward.
The man had no other comorbidities, but his oxygen saturation had decreased greatly, requiring manual ventilation, according to Monitorul de Suceava. After hospitalization, his condition steadily worsened and on January 1 he passed away.
„The year 2021 began with very sad news. On the first day of the year, a former gendarme from the Suceava County Gendarme Inspectorate died at the age of just 42, being killed by COVID-19. Neculai Prostire was confirmed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and after a few days, on December 19, he was hospitalized in Suceava County Hospital, ATI department, with very low oxygen saturation. There were no other comorbidities “, wrote the Suceava Gendarmerie in a message on Facebook.
From 2004 to 2012, the man worked in the field of public order and security, making his debut in the Fălticeni Intervention and Surveillance Group.
From December 2010 to June 2011, he participated in the international peacekeeping mission in the province of Kosovo.
