President Klaus Iohannis sent a message on the occasion of the New Year, announces the Presidential Administration. Iohannis thanked the Romanians for their responsibility in limiting the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and also thanked the Romanian medical staff.
President Klaus Iohannis’ message on the last day of 2020:
“Dear Romanians, we are at the end of an extremely difficult year, in which our life has been radically changed by an unprecedented pandemic.
Thank you for your responsibility and participation in the joint effort to limit the spread of this terrible virus and protect our fellow human beings. Unfortunately, too many people have lost the battle against the disease and now I think of grieving families.
I send a special message of appreciation and gratitude to the doctors and medical staff, who have worked until they were exhausted and continue to do so to save lives.
We look forward to the New Year with great hope and confidence that we will overcome this difficult test. The return to normality that we all lack is approaching, but it depends on each one of us. Let us remain responsible, so that this goal of ours becomes a reality as soon as possible!
