Adrian Gheorghe, the new director of CNAS, is a Romanian researcher in London

Official sources told Libertatea that Adrian Gheorghe (35), a Romanian researcher in London, with experience in health financing, economic evaluation of public health interventions and the economic burden of disease, will come to the leadership of CNAS.

Since November 2018, Adrian Gheorghe has worked, as a Senior Health Economist, in the department of infectious disease epidemiology at Imperial College London.

Co-author of the patient feedback mechanism

Adrian Gheorghe has a PhD from the University of Birmingham in 2013. He then worked for two years at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as a Research Fellow in Economic Evaluation in the Department of Global Health and Development.

Between 2015 and 2018, Gheorghe worked as a “health economist” at Oxford Policy Management, an international development consulting firm that aims to help low- and middle-income countries achieve economic growth and reduce poverty through the reform of public policies.

In 2016, Adrian Gheorghe was part of Vlad Voiculescu’s team at the Ministry of Health. Among the projects he worked on is the patient feedback mechanism, designed to help patients report acts of corruption in hospitals.

Andreea Moldovan, the new Secretary of State for Pandemic Affairs

According to Libertatea sources, Andreea Moldovan, medical director of infectious diseases at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Brasov, will assume the position of secretary of state for matters related to the pandemic.

The information also appeared in the local Brasov press, which writes that the decision comes in the context of the abolition as a legal entity of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases and its take over by the Brasov Clinical Hospital of Neumoftiziology.

According to the local press, Andreea Moldovan is the sole partner and administrator of Infectio Medical SRL and shareholder of Teo Health SA. Bogdan Moldovan is also a shareholder in the latter company. He is the sole partner and administrator of Transplant Surg SRL.
