It is to be expected that Romanians have entered the new year 2021, but, like most of humanity, they had an atypical New Years Eve. Most of them spent time at home, without big parties, but with their loved ones, perhaps not all.
The fireworks weren’t as great as in previous years, but they were still present. They weren’t in the central squares, in the presence of tens of thousands of people, but they still towered over apartment buildings, neighborhoods, watched by millions of eyes from behind the windows. Rain and tranquility in the Old Center, once Km 0 of fun
A year ago, the Old Town of the Capital was the zero point of fun. Thousands of people sang, danced and looked on with hope for 2020. Nothing seemed to predict what followed, the year that changed the lives of all Earthlings. Now, an hour before midnight, traffic is no longer allowed on the streets. The cities were empty. The capital, which in other years had crowded streets, was extremely quiet. In the Old Center it was deserted:

Silence in Timisoara
The pandemic brought peace not only in central Bucharest, but across the country on New Year’s Eve. In recent years, for example, in the center of Timisoara, thousands of people spent happily in the middle of the night, on the street. There were concerts, crowds, and lots of fun. But now there was complete silence in the western city:
Hell between the blocks
There are no parties or fireworks: it is forbidden to go out because we are still on alert. This did not stop the people of Bucharest from throwing huge firecrackers and firecrackers from the balconies. The habit of chasing away what was bad last year seems to have become more popular now than ever. The infernal noise broke the silence between the apartment blocks of the neighborhoods, torturing the animals in the apartments or on the streets.
New Years Eve 2021 at the hospital
New Year’s Eve 2021 was not, perhaps, for many a reason for great joy. Some are not even free for the holidays. The medical staff stayed in the hospital with the patients, as they have done so far, but the difference is that they are much more tired. This year was a difficult test from a health point of view. Many patients have lost the battle against the killer virus. The coronavirus infection killed almost 16,000 Romanians and more than 600,000 were infected. The good news is that the new year begins under the sign of vaccination. Therefore, and the hope that perhaps 2021 will give us back the joy and normality that we long for. The most important thing is to stay healthy. Happy Birthday!
