* Regarding the “new cases not assigned by region”, we specify that their number is determined by the changes introduced in the electronic platform through which the results of the tests for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, and the epidemiological investigation will be carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and positive cases will be assigned to the region / locality to which belong to infected people.

To date, 15,767 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 30.12.2020 (10:00) – 31.12.2020 (10:00) 171 deaths (100 men and 71 women) were reported, of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Oltă, Sulajhova, Vascea, Siucea, Tulcea, Siucea Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 1 death in the age category 30 to 39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 13 deaths in the age category age 50 to 59 years, 40 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 54 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 59 deaths in the age group over 80 years.
166 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 4 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9,124. Of these, 1,130 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 4,797,449 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 21,528 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 15,313 based on case definition and medical protocol and 6,215 on request.
In Romania, 32,581 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 9,099 people are institutionally isolated. Additionally, 49,113 people are in home quarantine and 54 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,003 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 437 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 30 of this year, 5,152 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 1,048,500 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 2 criminal proceedings were raised to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,063 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,939 in Italy, 1,290 in Spain, 173 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 131 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 11 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan and the Russian Federation. Since the start of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 130 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, died 3 in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.

As of December 30, 2020, 17,348,389 cases had been reported in the EU / EEA, UK, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland and Andorra. Most cases have been reported in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, and Germany.
