In the last 24 hours, 4,322 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected. Most are in Ilfov, Timiș, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța and Bucharest counties. According to the graph that shows the epidemiological evolution in Romania, 16 counties are in the green scenario, that is, they have a contagion rate below 1.5 per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.
20 provinces are in the yellow scenario, with the contagion rate between 1.5 and 3 per thousand inhabitants, according to the incidence of the last 14 days.
The most affected are Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov, Timiș, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța. The highest infection rate is in Ilfov County.
In the last 24 hours, 21,528 tests were carried out.
The director of the Marius Nasta Institute, Beatrice Mahler, drew attention on Wednesday that antigen testing has become a phenomenon in Romania. Thus, people who know they are sick are tested with antigen and no longer go to the hospital for confirmation, which influences the reality of community transmission of the virus, explained the doctor.
