The coordinator of the vaccination campaign in Romania, the doctor Valeriu Gheorghiță, declared in an intervention in Digi24 that he wants an acceleration of the vaccination process and most likely in January the second stage of immunization will begin, for the elderly and people with diseases. Chronicle, in parallel with the first one that is currently being carried out.
Gheoghiță was asked if there is a clearly established schedule and when the first stage of vaccination should end, but also when the second and third stages will start.
“We do not have a schedule, but we are talking about an estimate, because things are happening dynamically. We have to adapt to how vaccination is carried out today. We want an acceleration of the immunization process, to vaccinate people in the main risk category, which can develop serious or critical forms, that is, people residing in medical and social centers, the elderly, people with disabilities, multiple comorbidities.
We could start the second stage in January, but we will analyze this aspect on January 4 ”, declared Valeriu Gheorghiță in Digi24.
Gheorghiță also specified that she has not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
“They will vaccinate me when the vaccination center of the Military Hospital comes into operation, that is, on January 5,” he concluded.
