When the next installment of vaccines arrives
The first batch of vaccines will arrive tomorrow morning at the Cantacuzino Institute, being transported at a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius. Valeriu Gheorghiţă also spoke about the arrival of the next stage, saying: “It is estimated that the next stage will arrive on December 28, but it is a weekly schedule at the moment.”
“We need to vaccinate 50-60% of the population to break the vicious circle, that is why we also need the collaboration of the population. Initiating vaccination is a step that, if followed correctly, can lead to breaking the vicious circle, “said Raed Arafat.
“The first person to be vaccinated will be from the medical staff, it is established,” confirmed Dr. Valeriu Gheorghiţă, who did not want to reveal his identity, and mentioned that “he will know when he will be vaccinated.”
Press releases
Raed Arafat: “We are witnessing a historic moment, a moment that shows that the world has found a solution, we are beginning to apply it and we see how the EU has managed not to disappoint its citizens. When this truck with the first doses of vaccine arrived behind us, there were other trucks in other EU countries. It was a great effort, with the participation of all the Member States. Joint procurement, common approach and for the vaccination part, common implementation.
There is hope, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but that does not mean that the problem is solved, that we are forgetting the measures that are mandatory. Starting today we will work on two fronts: fighting and limiting the spread of the virus, and vaccination, which we hope will lead us to solve this problem ”.
Valeriu Gheorghiţă: “It is an honor for me to be here as coordinator of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in Romania. It is a symbolic tranche, of about 10,000 doses, which will arrive on December 25 at the Cantacuzino Institute. It is assigned to the medical units involved in the fight against COVID-19.
I am glad that there is a public debate on the subject of vaccination. It is an unprecedented logistical effort that we have organized, we are ready to start the vaccination campaign safely, so that each citizen has access to vaccination whenever they want. The first stage is directed at medical personnel and from the social system, in the second stage the population at risk is vaccinated and in the third stage we talk about the vaccination of the general population.
Today, the first day of Christmas, our hope comes true, that of finding a safe and fast way to end this pandemic that has changed our lives. Through unprecedented collaboration, today we are witnessing scientific progress in which a vaccine has been shown to meet all safety standards. “
