Government announces first doses of Covid vaccine in the country on December 26

The first tranche of anti-Covid vaccines will arrive in Romania on December 26, the Romanian Government’s National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against Covid-19 of the Romanian Government announced in a statement. The authorities also urged compliance with the rules during the holidays.

“Today, December 22, a meeting of the CNCAV took place, chaired by the acting Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă. The preparation stage for the effective start of the vaccination campaign was analyzed in detail with the distribution, in Romania, of the first installment of vaccines, of 10,000 doses on December 26.

Specific aspects of harmonization at the national and local levels were discussed, ensuring the safety of distribution, transportation and vaccination itself, as well as the correct information for citizens on this approach ”, the statement shows.

The interim prime minister called for more rules, saying “the Sars-Cov-2 virus infection does not stop at Christmas and New Years.”

In this context, the Prime Minister affirmed that, to protect us all, it is beneficial to respect the hygienic-sanitary measures and all the medical recommendations made by
public health experts, because “the infection does not stop at Christmas and New Years”
