The police discovered a fake nun who was taking money from people close to a church in the Capital. Beneath the monastic clothing was, in fact, a man who discovered a more efficient way to earn money.
The 27-year-old man wore black clothing, with brocades on his head and the mask covered almost his entire face, says local Bucharest police. It was almost impossible for people to realize that they did not have a nun in front of them.
He sighs and asks the parishioners for money. “Bogdaproste, it’s for the monastery,” sighs the nun. Then, with quick steps, he heads for the exit. In order not to generate suspicion, the nun pauses for a few moments on the stairs of the place of worship and, as a sign of gratitude for the mercy received, begins to anoint the faithful, ”local police officers report on Facebook.
A team from the Bucharest Municipality Local Police patrolling in the center of the Capital noticed the unusual scenes and after asking for the documents, they discovered that under the black robe there was actually a man. Also, he was healthy and had no disabilities, as he introduced himself to the people he asked for money for.
Agents discovered that the man was also caught asking people disguised as women for money. “He was dressed in hospital pajamas, stained with red paint, like blood, simulating the lack of a lost arm after the amputation,” says local police.
Driven to the station, the man told police that it is more profitable to beg in the guise of a woman, especially when he is feigning a disability. “As a man, people send you to work. It also hits you on the head,” he said.
After checking the summary body, the amount of 800 lei was found.
Regarding the monastic clothing he wore, the man claimed that it was not church clothing, but clothing bought second hand.
The 27-year-old man was fined and handed over to the National Police for further investigation.
