Daniel Ilcu was transferred to Alba Iulia County Hospital where he lost consciousness. He got into a ditch on a street in Alba Iulia.
Biological samples were taken to determine whether he had consumed alcohol or other substances. The man was not injured in the accident.
Representatives of the LEI Alba confirmed the incident but added that they have not yet received the results of the blood tests.
The press office of the institution specified that in the act, the man could not be tested with the alcohol test device, since he was in very bad condition.
Daniel Ilcu has been the head of the Alba Iulia Local Police since June 2018. There is a criminal case in his name in which he is accused of abuse of office and incitement to abuse of office. Specifically, it would have sanctioned subordinates to natural and legal persons, provided that the local police did not have such legal responsibilities.
