The first 10,000 doses of vaccine that will arrive in Romania will be distributed in ten hospitals in Bucharest and the country, announces the National Coordination Committee for vaccination activities against COVID-19. The doses assigned to the first “symbolic” tranche will be used to vaccinate medical personnel.
The National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities plans to receive the vaccine in Romania between December 26 and 31, 2020. The national center for receiving and storing vaccine doses is the National Institute for Medical-Military Research and Development “Cantacuzino” in Bucharest.
“The vaccine doses assigned to the first” symbolic “section will be used for the vaccination of medical personnel in the 10 medical units of phase I, in accordance with Decree MS 555 of April 3, 2020 on the approval of the Plan of Measures of Hospital Preparedness in the Context of COVID 19, of the List of hospitals that provide medical care to patients who have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in phase I and phase II and of the List of support hospitals for patients that they were positive or suspected of the virus SARS-CoV-2 ”, it is shown in the information of the authorities in the official portal vaccinare-covid.gov.ro.
The first doses of vaccine reach two hospitals in Bucharest and another eight in the country:
1. Brașov – Clinical hospital for infectious diseases
2. Bucharest – National Institute of Infectious Diseases „Prof. Dr. Matei Balş “
3. Bucharest – Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases „Dr. Victor Babeș ”(including Pipera’s modular external section)
4. Cluj – Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital, Cluj-Napoca
5. Constanța- Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital, Constanța
6. Dolj – “Victor Babeș” Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases and Pneumophysiology, Craiova
7. Iași – Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital
8. Maramureș – Hospital de Pneumoftiziología “Dr. Nicolae Rustea ”, Baia Mare
9. Suceava – County emergency hospital “Sfântul Ioan cel Nou” Suceava
10. Timiș – Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases and Pneumoftiziology „Dr. Victor Babeș ”, Timișoara (including the external section of this hospital, the cardiovascular recovery clinical section, within the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases of Timișoara)
The authorities specify that the approval of the “Cantacuzino” National Institute for Medical-Military Research and Development in Bucharest as a national storage center for vaccines against COVID-19 is underway, completing all stages of spatial planning, including the installation of freezers of storage at -80 ° C, and work procedures related to medical and logistical activities carried out during the vaccination campaign at CNCAV level will be completed by Friday.
Also, during this period, training activities for vaccination personnel will begin.
It is estimated that all members of the vaccination teams will complete this training no later than December 25, 2020.
