Meanwhile, negotiations for the formation of the new government resumed. The presidents of PNL, USR-PLUS and UDMR once again sat facing each other, in Vila Lac. They have not reached an agreement yet, but have said they will be more flexible in the negotiations.
But PNL and USR-PLUS see the management of the future cabinet differently.
After the evening meetings in NLP but also in URS-PLUS, both parties came to the negotiations with their own options.
After 2 days, the leaders of the 3 political parties that are still trying to form a government have returned to the negotiating table.
All this time they chose to communicate from different camps through written statements or press releases. Now I am face to face, each with their own strategy.
NLP leader Ludovic Orban announced Wednesday night that the party voted for two negotiation options: the first with Florin Cîțu as prime minister and Orban as president of the Chamber of Deputies. The other, with Orban as prime minister and Cîțu as head of the Senate.
The USR-PLUS requested the leadership of the House, if Florin Cîțu will be Prime Minister. If not, I agree that NLP should take over the leadership of both houses of Parliament, and they should yield to Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș.
USR-PLUS does not want Prime Minister Orban
Therefore, those of USR-PLUS do not see Ludovic Orban at the head of the future government. However, after the negotiations, the coalition leaders sent a united message.
Ludovic orban: “I resumed negotiations, put the plans on the table“.
Dan Barna: “They put books on their faces and are more flexible”.
The leaders of the UDMR only demand a balance in the division of functions.
Kelemen hunor: “At the moment there are and are being considered several variants, which you have heard about. What we want is a balance of functions.“.
The PSD support the formation of a national union government, with Dr. Alexandru Rafila as prime minister. They have no one to form a majority with.
Marcel ciolacu: “These days we are witnessing the most sinister spectacle offered by the parties that lost these elections. Furthermore, we also see Orban desperately trying to stay at the head of the National Liberal Party.“.
NLP leaders also met Thursday night to discuss the negotiating strategy for Friday, when talks with coalition colleagues will resume.
