A cinematic chase of tens of kilometers ended tragically for one driver.
The 34-year-old man, convicted in the past of child trafficking, started running when he saw the officers. The individual also went through several police checks. Finally, the officers fired several shots and a bullet seriously wounded the driver. He died shortly after. The end of the chase was captured by a camera aboard the police car.
The images show the driver driving chaotically and rushing past all the cars in front of him. At one point, the man enters the opposite direction and reaches the gutter, walks a few meters on the ground and stops.
The mad rush began in Popricani, Iași County, where a driver saw the 34-year-old man standing at an intersection and sitting with his head on the wheel. Concerned, he alerted the police, but when the agencies arrived, the individual woke up and ran away.
The individual hit the police cars.
The driver went through several towns and although the police made two barricades on the route, he could not be stopped. The individual even ran over police cars. The chase ended after about 80 kilometers, in Copălău, Botoșani county, where four other police teams followed.
