Secretary of State Raed Arafat told Digi24 on Wednesday night that the government does not take into account the relaxation of restrictions on New Year’s Eve, by allowing traffic until 1:00, with requests from HoReCa in this regard. Asked, however, what we will do at the turn of the year, he replied: “We go out to the balcony, we look out the window, we watch television.”
“It does not exist at the moment, I know that we do not intend to change the rules at this time. I understand that HoReCa wants until 1:00, but this is exactly the situation where people will want to go to parties and everywhere else, in places that are hard to control and get infected. I understand their economic situation, but they must understand that such a recommendation is not very good for the population that wants to go to those places, ”said Raed Arafat.
“The rules that were approved by Government Decision are maintained. We do not intend to toughen the rules, but we do not intend to relax the rules ”, reiterated the head of the ESD.
When asked what Romanians could do in early 2021, Raed Arafat replied: “We go out to the balcony, we look out the window, we watch TV.”
“I am convinced that some will go down in front of the block, but that they will go out with a mask, to respect the rule in public space. But no concerts, no parties, such a thing will not be possible ”, he added.
Regarding those who have mountain reservations in pensions and hotels, the Secretary of State said that “the most honorable and fair solution” is that those who want to spend New Year’s Eve are “to bring food to the room, to celebrate as if you were at home”, so that there is no “intense” contact between people in the event rooms.
