Coronavirus Romania, balance December 16. In Romania, 571,749 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) were confirmed.
469,499 patients were declared cured.
After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,991 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after reassessment of patients who were already positive, 945 people were positively reconfirmed.
The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Below is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

To date, 13,862 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 15.12.2020 (10:00) and 16.12.2020 (10:00) it was reported 164 deaths (112 men and 52 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna , Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category of 20 to 29 years, 1 death in the age category of 30 to 39 years, 6 deaths in the age category of 40 to 49 years, 12 deaths in the category of age 50 to 59 years, 38 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years, and 46 deaths in the age group over 80 years.
158 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 5 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11,977. Of these, 1,267 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 4,505,916 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 28,191 were performed in the last 24 hours, 17,926 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 10,265 on request.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 16,410 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until December 16 have been reported.
In Romania, 43,109 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 11,298 people are in institutional isolation. Furthermore, 66,541 people are in home quarantine and 124 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,839 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 874 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
