Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos harshly criticizes the national resilience program, after it was also attacked by the EU, which considers that the government did not propose concrete measures for which money should be allocated.

“The National Recovery and Resilience Program (PNRR), which should contribute tens of billions of euros to Romania to reactivate the economy and finance reforms in health and education, for example, cannot be a new PNDL, but must contain structural reforms.

In order to finance, despite the budget deficit that we reached after the crisis caused by the PSD and the pandemic crisis, investments, to support digitization and, therefore, the debureaucratization of public administration.

In order to move from the logic of “quantitative absorption of EU funds” to one of efficient use of public money, we believe that the reorganization of the Ministry of European Funds is necessary to facilitate the absorption of European funds and reduce the bureaucracy associated with projects that involve money from the European Union.

The European Commission has criticized the Orban government’s plan to attract € 30 billion from the European Union, saying the PNRR does not foresee any serious reform in areas such as digitization, environmental protection, economic sustainability and education.

It is an additional reason to put an end to this saga as soon as possible with the division of functions and to seriously discuss the guiding program and how we finance the measures and commitments foreseen there ”, writes Dacian Cioloș on Facebook.
