While the negotiations between PNL-USR PLUS and UDMR were blocked in the division of functions, PSD leaders sat at the table with AUR, a party that entered Parliament and with which it could collaborate in the future legislature. According to Gândul.ro, the president of AUR, George Simion, had a discussion with the president of the PSD National Council, Vasile Dîncu. The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, also appears in the photos presented by the publication.
“It has nothing to do with inquiries. We talked about an IRES study where we asked questions about GOLD. We did not talk about support because it would not reach us anyway. Also, I cannot work on modernizing the structure and the brand. PSD in coalition with AUR. It would be a futile sacrifice if you can’t even form a government coalition. I had met Simion before, when I was a student, “Vasile Dîncu told Digi24.ro.
In addition, the president of the PSD National Council claims that the PSD president, Marcel Ciolacu, did not attend the meeting with George Simion.
“Mr. Ciolacu visited me later, he did not participate in this meeting,” Dîncu also told Digi24.ro.
The meeting between Vasile Dîncu and George Simion took place on Friday, around noon, at an address in Primaverii, where the headquarters of IRES, an institute coordinated by Dîncu, is located, according to information from Gândul.ro.
How could PSD win the majority with GOLD?
According to the mandates distributed after the parliamentary elections, the PSD has 157 parliamentarians and the AUR 47. In total, the two parties would gather 204 votes in Parliament, with 30 votes less than necessary for the investment of a government.
However, the 30 votes could come from UDMR, which is in negotiations with PNL and USR PLUS to form a center-right majority.
After the parliamentary elections, Marcel Ciolacu did not rule out a collaboration with AUR.
“The essence of politics is to talk to all political actors. I announced in the campaign that we will not have a discussion with NLP.
I don’t know how controversial Mr. Simion is, I didn’t have time this campaign to study the other competitors. But Romanians are always right when they vote. We will have a discussion with all political forces ”, declared Marcel Ciolacu on December 6, on Digi24.
In the consultations on Monday, PSD goes to the Cotroceni Palace with the proposal of Prime Minister Alexandru Rafila.
