Robinho is accused of participating in a gang rape in 2013 at a club in the Italian city of Milan. The former Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan star was accompanied by a friend, Ricardo Falcao, and three other friends. Although the Brazilian initially denied the charges against him, a trial that lasted almost seven years followed, and yesterday the sentence arrived: nine years with execution!
Robinho, sentenced to nine years in prison for rape
According to the judges, the victim is a young woman of Albanian origin who was 22 years old in 2013. The press revealed at the beginning of the investigation that Robinho’s victim and his friends would not have been able to resist because he was unconscious after being intoxicated by the group led by Robinho.
Robinho, 36, who denied the facts, has a term of 90 days to appeal in cassation, after being forced to leave the Santos club in October due to pressure from the sponsors of the Brazilian team. Robinho was also charged with rape in 2009., when he played for Manchester City, but that case was closed.
Robinho’s contract with Robinho was recently terminated Saints, barely a week after the fourth return, and the official reason is that this decision was made in order to focus this process. Robinho claims that he is innocent and that the sexual relationship took place with the woman’s consent. The forward was playing for Milan at the time.
