A shocking incident allegedly took place on Thursday in the ATI section of the “Victor Babeș” Hospital in the capital. A patient admitted to intensive care died after being accidentally extubated by an orderly, according to hospital sources.
The orderly was supposed to pick up a deceased patient from the room, but that would have confused him and thus ended up extubating the woman.
The hospital director confirmed that a patient died at the hospital. He said the police had been notified, who would determine whether an investigation would be launched.
On Thursday night, the Capital Police reported that an investigation was launched to establish the conditions in which the woman died.
“On the night of December 10, the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest was informed about the death of a person hospitalized in a hospital in sector 3. Given that there are still suspicions about the cause of death, the Homicide Service began controls, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to District Court 3 ”, transmitted the Capital Police.
Investigation and criminal investigation activities are being carried out, in order to establish the causes and conditions in which the death occurred, and an autopsy will also be ordered, the Police also said.
