The Strategic Communication Group today announces a new assessment of Covid infections.

To date, 12,660 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 07.12.2020 (10:00) – 08.12.2020 (10:00) 213 deaths were reported (119 men and 94 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in the Alba, Arad, Argeș hospitals, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialțure, Mahohoheedai, Ialțure, Mahohoi Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 6 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 21 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 51 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 63 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 68 deaths in the category over 80 years.

201 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 2 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 10 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 12,571. Of these, 1,276 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,293,672 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 29,151 were performed in the last 24 hours, 19,176 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,975 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 249 tests processed before the last 24 hours and sent until December 8 have been reported.

In Romania, 42,582 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 11,957 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 66,867 people are in home quarantine and 128 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the report of December 7, in the territory of Romania, 517,236 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) were confirmed.

409,121 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 3,660 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 746 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 12,447 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
