This season, the FCSB has a real chance in the fight for the League 1 title, and Gigi Becali seems willing to stop experimenting in the transfer market, with players without contracts, rejected by other teams. This time, Becali set his sights on a youth international, who would fit perfectly into the skeleton of his team: the destroyer from Pisa, Marius Marin (22 years old).
Gigi Becali built a team at FCSB to her liking, of young and promising local players, from which she can get good amounts of money in case they take the step west. Many of them are youth internationals and some have already moved to Mirel Rădoi’s national team.
Gigi Becali is looking for a new “Mihai Pintilii”
However, there is one position that Gigi Becali considers vulnerable: that of closing midfielder. A recuperator, that’s what FCSB would need, like Mihai Pintilii. The variant with Dragoş Nedelcu was attempted, but this was an extremely expensive and ineffective investment, being more injured than valid. The boy Ovidiu Perianu (18 years old) was also mentioned, but he is too young for the fierce championship fights with CFR Cluj and the University of Craiova. Ovidiu Popescu could have played there too, but he has long since lost the owner’s trust.
Then Gigi Becali has to find another “destroyer”. It would better fit the desired profile, Marius Marin from Pisa. The head of the FCSB is a “fan” of the youth international. In addition, he received very good references about the player and those close to him, which pushed the player to the top of the shopping list this winter. It would be the fifth player to be repatriated by Gigi Becali from Italy, after the transfers of Mihai Bălaţa, Bogdan Mitrea, Paul Papp and Adrian Stoian.
Last summer Marius Marin was targeted by several Serie A teams, but no offer was in line with Pisa’s demands. This season the Italian team is at the bottom of the Serie A standings and would be tempted to tighten their budget with a possible sale of the Romanian.
The Romanian midfielder’s market share is 500,000 euros, according to Transfermarkt, but the amount of the transfer that Gigi Becali could pay could even double. The footballer is a basic man of the youth team and a viable option for the senior team is also announced.
Who is Marius Marin, the soccer player wanted by FCSB
Marius Marin is from Timişoara, he grew up in ASU Poli and in 2016 he was transferred to Italy, to Sassuolo. After two loans to Catanzaro and Pisa, the latter has to buy it permanently and pay 400,000 euros to Sassuolo. For Pisa, he accumulated 75 games, one goal and six assists.
