How the AUR party, founded a year ago, came to Parliament: “They are strident trumpeters from Romania”

The elections ended and the polls came up with a result that surprised many people: the Alliance for the Union of Romania party.

AUR is a party that campaigned on Facebook, known especially in radical communities on the Internet, with nationalist and ultra-conservative leaders.

The party president supports the union of Romania with Bessarabia, and his colleagues claim that wearing a mask is an abuse. “They are strident trumpeters from Romania, a festival of relics, which has grown, because they opposed the cancellation of pilgrimages, a descendant of the PRM,” say the analysts.

George Simion, president of the Alliance for the Unification of Romania, is 34 years old, he was arrested eight times and put in a van and, last but not least, he was exploited three times from the Republic of Moldova.

George Simion, president of GOLD: “I am not George Simion the scandalous, I am George Simion the trade unionist. We are not extremists, but we are as radical as possible because we will die with justice in our hands.”

George Simion has been in conflict with the police many times.

In 2009, gendarmes arrested him after lighting candles in front of Ion Iliescu’s office. He also organized countless marches to campaign for union with Bessarabia.

Simion is the ultras leader of the gallery united under the tricolor.

George Simion ran for the first time in the European Parliament last year, where he won just over one percent. Since then, he has been campaigning on the Internet with his colleagues, but he has also caravanned across the country, from town to town.

George Simion, president of GOLD: “There are politicians who accuse us of being supported by Russia. Or I know how much Russia has hurt us.”

AUR militates for the unification of Romania with Moldova, the repatriation of Romanians from the diaspora, the ban on the export of wood of any kind, but also many other nationalist issues. George Simion defines the party as conservative, patriot and unionist. The party’s roster in the parliamentary elections includes militants from the referendum for the traditional family, anti-COVID lawyers, and anti-Hungarian activists in Transylvania.

Claudiu Târziu, co-president of AUR, former member of the National Coordination Council of the Coalition for the Family, affirms that the AUR doctrine is based on four pillars: family, homeland, faith, freedom.

The future parliamentarians, the candidates of this party affirm that wearing the mask worse makes us sick. For example, Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă, future senator, was the lawyer of Archbishop Teodosie in his attempt to organize the pilgrimage to Saint Andrew. He has always maintained that the imposition of protective masks is an abuse.

Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă, GOLD candidate for the Senate: “We have nothing to do with the mask, I will always support the mask, it did not help anyone, on the contrary, the infections exploded.”

In fact, how the people of AUR respect the restrictions of this period could be seen on Sunday night, when they celebrated the victory.

Dan Tănasă is another AUR leader who will become a deputy. Tănasă participated in the June 2019 violent events in Valea Uzului.

Cristian Tudor Popescu: “A boil, that’s what I would call this political-social phenomenon called GOLD, or they voted to swear, to swear to others.”

Cristian Pârvulescu: “The best characterization of this band is – the Romanian trumpeters. Just as Trump is the result of an alliance between groups that is difficult to reconcile in American society, so is GOLD. They were also determined on the basis of absenteeism. “

Analysts anticipate that this party will remain isolated in parliament, with no prospect of obtaining more votes in the future.
