PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu told Digi24 that the Social Democratic Party will attend the Cotroceni consultations with a prime ministerial proposal in the person of Alexandru Rafila. The announcement comes after Ludovic Orban announced his resignation as prime minister.
Ciolacu affirmed that the PSD will wait for the official results and then Klaus Iohannis must respect the Constitution and summon the parties to consultations. The PSD leader confirmed that the party he leads will go to Cotroceni and present the president as prime minister to doctor Alexandru Rafila, representative of Romania in the WHO.
“We are awaiting the official results and from that moment we are awaiting the observance of the Constitution and the president to summon the parties to consultations. I will propose them to my colleagues on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest, depending on how the final results are announced, so that we can go to Cotroceni with Mr. Alexandru Rafila for the position of prime minister, ”Ciolacu declared in a telephone intervention on Digi24 .
Just a day ago, Marcel Ciolacu specified that the PSD has four names of prime minister and that it is not among the proposals.
“We have four names for the position of Prime Minister: Mr. Grindeanu, Mr. Tudose, Mr. Dâncu and Mr. Rafila. We are going to speak inside the party. My clear decision is that I will not be one of the nominations. We will see on Wednesday , within the party, what is the appointment of prime minister ”, declares Ciolacu.
